Tim Matas is an experienced trial attorney pursuing justice for his clients. Formerly, Tim was the Platte County Public Defender for 14 years where he worked diligently to defend his clients. His extensive experience includes criminal defense, appeals, juvenile law, civil contempt proceedings, domestic relations and Mental Health Board adjudications.
Tim is an active member of the Nebraska State Bar Association, serving on several committees and as a member of the House of Delegates since 2015. He is also active in the Nebraska Criminal Defense Attorneys Association where he serves on the Board of Directors.
Tim and his family have made Columbus their home, and have become deeply involved in both church and civic organizations and are committed to the betterment of their children’s school and city. Tim coaches youth baseball and soccer, and serves on the Columbus Public Library Board of Trustees, most recently as Board President. He has also served on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Columbus.
Tim works primarily in the areas of criminal and juvenile defense, domestic relations, civil litigation and estate planning. He is licensed to practice in the states of Nebraska and Kansas. His primary office is in Columbus, but Tim serves clients in the surrounding counties.
